I have a few used 2014s I'm looking it. One has 430 miles the other has 300. Do they have any common issues? i saw online about the clutch/belt issues. Does that affect the 800s? This is going to be my first Utv. And is getting one with powering steering worth it? I plan on some trail riding but would also like to plow my driveway.

I'm a new Commander owner, so I really don't know about the belt issue. Mine has 500 miles and no problems. As far as power steering, YES. I was able to drive one with and without power steering. It has 3 different modes, which is nice. Have you looked at new? We got a pretty hefty rebate and discount on ours.

Most belt problems are caused by running high gear when going slow - should be using low gear at slow speeds

I have a'14 800 xt with 1700 miles on it. Use it a little around my parents farm and a lot of trail riding. Still on original belt but I do use low at low speeds. Only issue I have had was I got a code and DPS quit working one day. Turned machine off and when I came back to it it was working and no problems since. On real warm days engine heat is somewhat of an issue. I did insulate the inside of my center console and added a fan override switch. For use at colder temps, that heat feels kind of good. Overall, very satisfied with machine.

Make sure to get the power steering. For any slow riding/driving, it makes a huge difference.

I have 400 miles on my '14 800XT. The only issue I've had so far was that it needed an ECM reflash for high altitude. If you're not driving over 6,000 feet above sea level, it's not a problem for you.

I have a 14 xt with 607miles and am happy to say that the machine has been issue free. I must say that the power steering is nice on long rides. Dont know if i would go without it. So in short....pull the trigger on one and enjoy your new ride..u wont be disappointed...

Very happy with mine. '14 800 xt. Love the power steering, only issue I have had is 4wd. At first it was the winch fuse but I Have yet to bring it in. I think it's a switch issue.

Besides that. It is tons of fun and I got a car seat between the seats for my two year old. Plus it fits in the bed of my 08 Chevy d max

Only problem I've had is over heating every time I take it out and yes I clean the radiator like a mad man ( installing a relocation kit ) power steering I'd say is a must for low speed and plowing

My 2012 800XT hasn't given me any problems other than coming up with funds for mods and keeping the wife calm. But that's normal. lol

Adding power steering was best money we've ever spent for any kind of aftermarket accessory.

If buying used in that mileage range, get proof that they have done the 10-hour service (oil filter and fluid changes in transmission and front and rear gear boxes, and valve adjustment). If not done, it's up to you or paying a dealer $300 to $400+ for that service.
